Unfortunately, not all data sources you will work with are clean and easy to use.
Because of that, we will discuss concepts (e.g. RegEx, coalesce, and string functions) to clean unstructured data and correctly extract insights from data.

Work with messy and unstructured data by using functions, RegEx, and conditional fields
Combine multiple data sources and develop hierarchical queries
Design and build datasets that can be used for business analysis, dashboards, or data science
Do you know the basics of SQL and you want to take your SQL to the next level and advance in an analytical or strategic role? Then you are at the right place.
In the first 1.5 weeks, we start from the basics and teach you everything you need to learn about pulling and manipulating data from one table.
We will discuss how to filter, aggregate, and order the rows and columns that you need to answer your business question.
After setting up your foundation of SQL knowledge, you will learn how to combine data that comes from multiple tables. This is critical since data is never stored in a single table in any business.
We will discuss methods on how to combine multiple tables by using joins, union and subqueries. Finally, these weeks teach you how to simplify complex queries by breaking up the query using WITH statements.
Practice is key when you are learning how to write SQL. Because of that, we will test your SQL knowledge through a business case.
This will train you to become more comfortable in translating business questions into data-driven answers while testing your SQL knowledge. You will receive the certificate of completion after passing the business case.
Unfortunately, not all data sources you will work with are clean and easy to use.
Because of that, we will discuss concepts (e.g. RegEx, coalesce, and string functions) to clean unstructured data and correctly extract insights from data.
In the next 1.5 weeks, we will focus on writing complex queries that combine many data sources and how to simplify them.
We will use this knowledge to teach out how to create hierarchical queries that can be used to build datasets for business analysis, dashboard views, or data science modelling.
In the last week, we will go through a real-life business case that combines all the theories discussed in the previous weeks.
This will allow you to become more comfortable in applying these skills in an actual business environment.
You will receive the certificate of completion after passing the business case.
